The fans of Chivas de Guadalajara will always remember Martin, he will always be remembered in the club's history.

Martin's athleticism combined with his cat-like reactions helped Chivas de Guadalajara capture the league championship in 1997.  Martin was nicknamed the "Octopus" for his ability to save and hold just about anything that came his way.  After a successful and productive 1996 and 1997 campaign with Chivas de Guadalajara, Martin was called to form part of the Mexican National Team that participated in the Copa América of 1997 that took place in Bolivia where Mexico finished in third place in the competition.  Since retiring from professional soccer Martin has been commentating and analyzing professional soccer games, most recently for Fox Deportes.
